Wheatland Museum

It is appropriate that the most comprehensive collection of farm machinery and agriculture related products in Australia should be found in the heart of the most productive grain growing area in Australia. This 16 hectare site is dedicated to the collection, restoration and display of agricultural machinery used over the past 100 years, with particular emphasis on the wheat industry. Most items are in working order and feature in the annual Easter Parade.

Open daily from 10am to 5pm.

Wheatland's Warehouse

Second-hand store that has almost everything from furniture & books to nick-knacks. You'll be lost for hours sifting through the thousands of items on display. Proceeds go to the maintenance of the Wheatland Museum.

Historical Centre

On display is a collection of all the items that make up the history of a typical Wimmera town. Housed in the towns first State Savings Bank, the display consists of furniture, pictures, maps, kitchen utensils and the personal items found in the homes of the pioneers of the era. The bank chamber remains as it was on opening day in 1909.
Open daily except Saturdays 2pm to 4pm.

Post Office

This attractive example of Tudor style architecture was built in 1907 and remains a unique feature of the shopping centre.

Yarriambiack Creek

Flowing through the heart of the town, the Yarriambiack Creek provides a haven for numerous water birds and the majestic gums lining the banks attract many varieties of native birds and animals. A walking track follows both sides of the creek providing a relaxing 4km stroll to enjoy the scenery and fresh air. The northern section of the creek provides an area for recreational activities including water skiing, boating and swimming.

Flora and Fauna Park

Created and maintained by the local Lions Club, this popular park is situated on a picturesque bend of the creek, surrounded by magnificent gums it provides free electric BBQ facilities, picnic tables, a children's adventure playground and a collection of native birds and animals. Kangaroos and emus are housed in a large natural compound adjacent to the creek.

The Log Lock Up

Built in 1872 when the first permanent policeman came to town and was used until 1960.

Open daily for inspection at no cost.


Court House

The Court House was built in 1891, restoration started in 1996.

Lawn Cemetery

A major project of the Lions Club, transforming the area into a place of tranquility.

Woodbine Centre

A residential school and training provider for adults with intellectual and other disabilities, built largely from the generosity of local people.

Trading Precinct

Warracknabeal boasts an active, vibrant array of traders and business houses. Covering a diverse broad spectrum including professional services, clothing & apparel, electrical & computers, gifts, knick-knacks, supermarkets, chemist, food outlets, hardware and many more.

Tourist Information Centre

First port of call to obtain information and maps to fully appreciate the Township and surrounding area.
